 Dealer participation may vary. Promotion and registration period begins February 1,2026, and ends December 31,2026. To redeem, register online and verify status through ID.me during the promotion period. ID.me will deliver a promotion code electronically upon verification. The promotion code can be used during the enrollment process on riders.harley-davidson.com for eligible classes at participating dealers, or during in-person enrollment at participating dealership.
All classes must be completed by December 31, 2026. Class availability is limited and offered on a first-come, first-served basis. Course prices are determined by individual dealerships and may vary by location. Valid only in the United States. Limit one redemption per person. Non-transferable. Please Note: A credit card may be required to hold a class reservation. Failure to cancel or reschedule within the dealership's cancellation policy may result in being charged the full course cost. 

HD of Indy Riding Academy is offering a reduced New Rider Class registration fee from November 26 through December 31. During this period, the online registration fee will be $225. Beginning January 1, the fee will return to $299. A limited number of class seats will be available and can be viewed and booked online under Find a Class in the Riding Academy section.

Starting January 1, Military members, Veterans, and First Responders-active or retired-should contact the Academy at 317-815-2534 to inquire about eligibility for the First Responder promotional rate.

NEW RIDER COURSE

Never ridden before? Want to get your license? The New Rider Course will lead you throuh the steps to learn to ride a motorcycle and get you on the road. Successful completion earns the MSF BRC card and in most states a license waiver that gets you a motorcycle endorsement on your license at your state DMV.

WHAT TO EXPECT

  • Learn to ride on a genuine Harley-Davidson® motorcycle
  • Classroom and range instruction from state & Riding Academy certified coaches
  • Learn to safely accelerate, shift, brake, and turn, along with maneuvers like controlling skids and surmounting riding obstacles
  • Earn a Motorcycle Safety Course Completion Card, which may exempt you from the riding portion of your state license exam and score you a discount on motorcycle insurance

Rider Skill Testing

Skill testing is currently appointment based. To schedule an appointment, call 317-815-2534

Important Information

  • Cost: $50.00 per test attempt.  Only one attempt is permitted per day.
  • You are required to provide your own motorcycle for the test session.  
  • A valid Indiana driver's license with a non-expired and intact Indiana motorcycle permit.
  • Valid motorcycle registration and proof of insurance for the test motorcycle.
  • Appropriate riding gear for your testing:
  • Helmet (DOT approved)
  • Eye protection (visor or glasses)
  • Long Pants ( with no holes)
  • Sturdy footwear ( no open toe or canvas gym shoes)
